Have you seen The Bear season 2? It’s one of my favourite shows. It’s refreshing and original. I’ve been watching less and less TV this year. Fewer shows amuse or entertain me. They are all so predictable and same-y.
But The Bear broke the spell with the fast-talking, the single shots, the chaos, the squabbling, and the excellent actors,
This season, there is the scene where Carmy attends a support group, and someone asks him what he does for fun. He says he had to look for the definition of fun: activities that one does for amusement or enjoyment.
He realizes that he never does anything fun. He works. He grinds. He cooks. He lives and breathes his restaurant to the detriment of his health and relationships.
