…more things to consider

Hi, I'm Luisa; you may have found this publication when I announced it on Patreon earlier this year. Or maybe you stumbled upon it.

It was going to be called something else, another clever name I came up with, but then life got in the way. Actually, illness did.

I refuse to label myself in any way, shape, or form, but I had to admit that this year was going to be a long, transitional year in which all the projects, plans, and dreams for my fifth decade were going down the drain.

Inter alia is a Latin phrase that translates to "among other things" or "among other matters." It's a publication about the ups and downs of keeping my art practice despite seeing my body and health taking center stage.

It's also about how I stopped making plans about art-as-work and concentrated on art-as-lifevest and sadness stopper.

It's a publication for those who wait or save art materials for a rainy day, for those who are tired of putting up a face of false positivity and allow themselves to feel whatever is coming, whether it's a soft stream of thoughts or a rapid threatening to turn you over.

I have no grand plans—just a diary of drawing and non-drawing days and weeks winding down to their simplest expression.

Inter alia by Luisa F. is a reader-supported publication. To receive new posts and support my work, consider becoming a free or paid subscriber.
